Baby Basics
If you read my last blog, you know I’ve been doing some reflecting lately over all the changes we’ve been through as a family in this last year. In my reflection, I thought about itty bitty tiny Beckham and how I’ve never gotten around to sharing some of the baby basics that we loved during those first few weeks and months! These were staples for us! Some we purchased multiple times to have more on hand or even bought in the next size up because we loved them so much!
Starting off with comfort - these ribbed pajamas are the best! They’re so affordable and in a way grow with your baby because of the stretch. Beckham is still squeezing in to a size 6-9 month pair of these if that tells you anything!
H&M is our favorite store for baby clothes - especially for baby boy clothes! I’m not sure why cute baby boy clothes are WAY harder to come by than cute baby girl clothes, but somehow H&M nails it every. single. time!! We love any of their basics, but found ourselves repurchasing this 6-piece multi-pack more than once. The onesies are so nice because you just snap them off and never have to pull them over your baby’s head. We did a lot of mix and matching with these sets as well, they’re so versatile!
Another H&M find is this 5 pack of socks! I had the hardest time finding some socks for the newborn stage until I came across these. So many others came in 6 month+ sizing and I knew those weren’t going to work for when we needed. I read the reviews before purchasing and saw several saying that the smallest size fit their premie babies. We ordered just that and they fit Beckham right away! We have continued to purchase these socks because they are so affordable, stay on so well, have several color options, and now that we are getting into the crawling/walking stage, the little grippies on the bottom are so practical!
During the cold winter months, we used these fleece booties for extra warmth. They are easy to put on and we never had problems with Beckham kicking them off. Great for the price, too!
We had a pack of these classic muslin burp rags. These are great to have around the house, or especially in a diaper bag because they don’t take up much space. We also had a couple packs of these super absorbent burp cloths from Copper Pearl. Beckham was a big spitter upper, and we found that we went through less of these. I recommend both of these!
These MAM pacifiers are what we have stuck with from the beginning. We tried other types and brands, but Beckham always gravitated to this brand and we’ve just moved the size up along along the way! He was able to keep these in his mouth better than other brands because of the weight and shape of the nipple. We found that the thinner, longer pacifiers with heavier tops were harder for him to keep in his mouth.
We’re big blanket people in this house, so our rule is that you can never have too many ;) We tried quite a few different swaddles out, and one of our favorites was this Copper Pearl swaddle! It was incredibly large and stretchy, which allowed us to get a good, tight swaddle that our little guy couldn’t get out of. Speaking of swaddles, we also loved this muslin swaddle from Mushie as more of a cozy, light blanket for around the house or on him in his carseat. We used them both, just for different purposes!
Speaking of blankets, we have three baby blankets that we love and use pretty equally. I will say that our favorite one is probably the one we have from Brixton Phoenix, but is currently sold out. We love our muslin quilt from them because of it’s size, quality and the fact that it gets softer with each wash. Even though ours is sold out, you should still check them out as they have a ton of options! Next, we have a muslin Mebie Baby blanket that is so soft! This one washes really nice, too and is just an overall large and cozy baby blanket. Lastly, we have this baby blanket from Kyte Baby. This one wins for softness! It’s got a nice weight to it, and has always been our go-to when we need a good snuggly blanket while Beckham drinks his milk. You can’t go wrong with any of these, honestly!
Lastly, are these muslin bibs that I can’t stop sharing about. I truly feel like they were an accessory to all of Beckham’s outfits his whole first year of life. That’s how much he wore them! They’re absorbent, come in cute neutral colors and the quality is amazing!
Like I said, these were basic items we used over and over again and really felt like we got our money’s worth. Some we’ve used from the newborn stage up until this point. Since we’re all about sharing things we love over here, I couldn’t keep these from you guys :) Were any of these products on your favorites list? What additional items would you add? Feel free to comment on this blog or DM us on Instagram - we always love hearing from you!
