What’s in our Baby/Toddler Medicine Cabinet

We’ve been in the thick of teething and getting over a cough/cold over here. The teething was inevitable, but I’ve noticed when the seasons change at least one of us in this house catches some sort of sickness. Between the warmer weather and traveling, Beckham was the culprit this time, so I thought I’d share what’s all in our medicine cabinet for him. He’s 15 months now for reference. Some of the items on this list we have had since he was a newborn, and some we have added more recently.

We try not to rely on medicine in our house, but when we do use it, we try to opt for more natural/cleaner options if we can. I am not claiming to be a doctor by any means, I’m just sharing what has worked in our house. As always, I encourage you to do your own research for figuring out what is best for you and your family!

Life Vac Chocking Rescue Device: Home & Travel Combo - If I could recommend one product on this whole list, this would be the product. We purchased this right after Beckham was born after hearing that other family members with kids had also purchased it. Is it expensive? Absolutely! However, the peace of mind having a set in our home and a travel size in our car was priceless to us. I pray we never have to use this on anyone ever, but if we do, the company replaces the used parts for free. It includes parts that allow you to use this on both children and adults.

iHealth No-Touch Forehead Thermometer - This is another item we love for the whole family. We have found it to be accurate, and it’s easy to use on an active toddler as you don’t directly have to touch it to their forehead!

EZY DOSE Kids Baby Oral Syringe & Dispenser - This has been great for measuring and administering medicine super quick. I always read the medicine label first, but this tool gives me peace of mind knowing I’m not over or under measuring. Beckham has never struggled to take medicine, but I’ve heard some people with babies who hate taking medicine have had luck with this Frida Baby Medicine Pacifier.

Nose Frida - I truly did not understand the hype about this product until Beckham got his first cold. Little ones just can’t clear out their sinuses on their own, and this helped so much with that - especially before bedtime! I’ve heard good things about the Electric Nose Frida as well!

Frida Baby 3-in-1 Nose, Nail + Ear Picker - This is so great for those hard to reach areas in a little one’s nose, ear or under their finger nails!

Baby Electric Nail Trimmer - Speaking of finger nails…those little finger nails are so hard to cut! We used this during those early newborn stages when we were terrified of cutting Beckham with a fingernail clippers. So many different nail head options as well!

Genexa Infants’ Pain & Fever - Think of this as a cleaner version of Tylenol. It is extremely sticky, but I’m so glad there are options like this out there! It’s made up of only six ingredients and Beckham doesn’t mind the taste at all.

Mary Ruth’s Organics - We love this brand! We started off with their Vitamin D3 Drops when Beckham was solely drinking breast milk, and then we moved on to their Vitamin C Drops, Multivitamin Drops, and Ionic Zinc Drops. We give these to Beckham daily and have seen a huge difference in him being able to fight off sickness.

Breathefrida Drops - We’ve found these to be great for clearing up and draining congestion. You can add them to a diffuser or to a warm bath. I will say that the bottom of the bathtub does get a little slippery if you do put them in the bath, so just be sure to wipe it out before using again. Speaking from experience haha!

Zarabees Soothing Chest Rub - We like this brand, too! This is like Vick's Vaporub, but for babies! We also have their cough syrup in our medicine cabinet, but haven’t used it yet, so I can’t speak to how well it works.

Tubby Todd All Over Ointment - You know we love Tubby Todd around here! We’ve seen some great results from their All Over Ointment for dry and cracked skin. We’ve been using this product for about 4 months now, and I’m not sure how we went without it before. They did start selling some of their bundles on Amazon recently, but the best deal you’re going to get is through the 10% off link above.

Oragel Baby Teething Gels - These have been so great to numb some of the teething pain. We have loved the daytime and nighttime option and everytime I use either of these on Beckham I can tell he is getting relief almost instantly. He likes both of the flavors, too!

Arm & Hammer Simply Saline - We took Beckham in to the doctor this fall for a cough/cold and the doctor recommended using a saline mist on top of using the Nosefrida. We couldn’t believe how much drainage we saw when using this! It definitely helped clear out his sinuses!

Those are all of the items we currently have in our baby/toddler medicine cabinet. I’m sure we will be adding some more along the way, so I’ll keep you posted when the time comes! Some other cleaner brands I have heard of, but don’t have experience with are Wellements, Sovereign Silver and Garden of Life. I’m sure there are other options out there as well, so if you know of any/have any experience with any for toddlers or adults, please let me know! I’m always open to doing more research :)

Stay healthy friends!
